The table I received was more cherry-colored than the matching desk I got at the same time, and the terminate is rather splotchy--which is not true of the desk. This table is solid wood: no veneers or "engineered wood." The legs are straight, and it arrived undamaged in its packaging. From the bad experiences some others have reported, I would guess that the packaging has been upgraded. One qoute was that the puny routed notches in the lower shelf don't line up with the reserve pins in the legs.
